| BlueScope Steel appoints Ms Hall as new non executive director |

| Mr Graham Kraehe chairman of BlueScope Steel had announced the appointment of Ms Penny Bingham Hall as a non executive director, effective March 29th 2011. Ms Bingham Hall has spent more than 20 years in a variety of roles with Leighton Holdings prior to retiring from the company at the end of 2009. Senior positions held by her with Leighton include Executive General Manager Strategy, responsible for Leighton Group's overall business strategy and Executive General Manager Corporate, responsible for business planning and corporate affairs. Ms Bingham Hall is the inaugural chairman of Advocacy Services Australia (the fiduciary company for the Tourism & Transport Forum and Infrastructure Partnerships Australia) and is a director of The Global Foundation and SCEGGS Darlinghurst school. She has also previously held non executive directorships with other industry and community organizations, including the Art Gallery of NSW and the Australian Council for Infrastructure Development. Welcoming Ms Bingham Hall, Mr Kraehe said that "She brings to the Board extensive experience in the building and construction and mining industries in Australia and Asia. Ms Penny's appointment complements the existing balance of the board." Ms Bingham Hall said that "I am very pleased to be joining BlueScope Steel's Board and look forward to working with the other directors to make a positive contribution to BlueScope Steel's future." |
